Bring plenty of your own snacks.  Hotel snacks are very expensive.  Students will not be allowed to order pizza or use the hotel's vending machines after rehearsal.  Students will be charged for any additional costs incurred beyond the cost covered by WSMA.

4. Who will I be rooming with at the Marriott?

You'll be rooming with students from your Honors ensemble.  There will be four students assigned to each room with two beds unless you complete and return the appropriate housing form, mailed to each student in August 2007. You will find out who your roommates are when you arrive in October. Madison-area students must stay at the Marriott. No room changes are allowed. Please do not call the hotel with any questions about housing arrangements!

5. When can I call my parents?

Students are encouraged to use cell phones or calling cards.  Cell phones must be turned off during rehearsals and concerts and after “Lights Out.”  Use of the hotel room telephone is discouraged.

6. Where can parents stay in Madison?

Please see "Travel & Hotel Information" web page.

7. What about students driving in Madison?

Parents are encouraged to travel to Madison with their Honors students.  If it is necessary for a student to drive to Madison, please be aware of the following.  Students will not be allowed to drive while in Madison unless it is absolutely necessary and only with pre-approval.  If a student must drive to the Honors concert location, they must inform their ensemble Coordinator the reason for the use of the vehicle, destination, departure and arrival times.

Students are not allowed to transport other students under any circumstances.

8. Will I be able to attend any other Honors concerts?

Students performing in the second half of a concert at the Overture Center will be able to watch the other Honors ensemble on TV monitors backstage.  Students performing in the first half may watch backstage or from the audience.  Your Honors nametag will allow you to attend the Honors Jazz Ensemble concert.  Additional jazz ensemble tickets may be purchased by returning the enclosed form.
